A Week Fit for Two Kings

martin-luther-king-jrAfter much delay the National Capital Planning Commission gave its final approval for the memorial Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial on the Mall and the construction permit was signed into yesterday. Like the struggle for equality itself, in recent years several incidents had almost derailed the progress of the project that broke ground in 2006.  The memorial to Dr. King should be completed by 2011. It will be located next to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial and within sight of the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials. Learn more and make a donation here.

This summer the world lost its biggest entertainment icon with the passing of Michael Jackson in while he was preparing for what was to be his comeback tour. The King of Pop had not toured in over a decade and fans were thirsting for simply a drop of his amazing talent that would drench the stage with his master craftsmanship and artistry.
