Substance & Style DC is edited Clarence J. Fluker. A long time Washington, DC resident, he is a renaissance man who loves politics and prose just as much as he loves culture and community. Substance & Style DC provides him an opportunity to share with local and global neighbors with similar interests what is going on in Washington.
Fluker is a contributing writer to SWERV magazine and has contributed in the past to About.com. His other written work has appeared in ARISE, and The Life magazines, the acclaimed anthology Spirited: Affirming the Soul and Black Lesbian/Gay Identity from Redbone Press, and the Journal of Intergroup Relations.
He is a graduate of Morgan State University and American University.
